Mainly, these supremacists groups violently attacked African Americans, hit them, hurt them, even burned them at the stakes, in a type of barbaric conduct. These aggressive groups used violent methods to intimidate these African Americans or Republican people who supported black people's rights.

The purpose of secret groups such as the Ku Klux Klan and the White Camelia was to restrict and frighten blacks from being involved in Southern governments.

The KKK was a secret organization formed by racist white supremacist men. The organization was formed on December 25, 1865, in Pulaski, Tennessee. The Kights of the White Camelia was founded on May 22, 1867, by Alcibiades Deblanc, in Franklin, Louisiana.
