What is the difference between harmonic and melodic??
Katyanochek1 [597]
If you play a HARMONIC minor scale, the seventh note of the scale goes up, for example if it's g, it becomes g sharp. You play seven up ascending the scale and descending. A MELODIC minor scale is played differently. The sixth AND seventh notes of the scale go up, but only ascending. On the descent of the scale, the sixth and seventh notes return to the original key signature. Example: On the way up: G sharp and A sharp. On the way down: G natural, and A natural.

Harmonic on it's own, means combined notes together, played as a chord.
If the notes are melodic, they are played seperately and individually.
