A = b + c ; Solve for c

We essentially just need to get "c" onto it's own side of the equal sign :)

So, subtract b from both sides!

a - b = b + c - b

Simplify.

a - b = c

So, c = a - b

A line with a slope of 4 passes through the points (8,7) and (7,p). What is the value of p
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:

p=3

Step-by-step explanation:

There are multiple ways to solve this, but since two points are provided (8,7) and (7,p) and the slope is also given (m=4), we can use the formula for the slope.

m = \dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Here,

m=4\quad, (x_1,y_1)=(8,7)\quad,(x_2,y_2)=(7,p)

4 = \dfrac{p-7}{7-8}

Now we'll just solve for 'p'

4 = \dfrac{p-7}{-1}

4(-1) = p-7

-4+7 =p

p=3

Hence, the line passes through (8,7) and (7,3)

Express the ratio in lowest form:<br>1.5 kg: 350 g
irakobra [83]

Given:

The ratio is:

1.5 kg : 350 g

To find:

The lowest or simplest form of the given ratio.

Solution:

We know that,

1 kg = 1000 g

We have,

1.5 kg : 350 g

It can be written as

1.5\ kg : 350\ g=\dfrac{1.5\ kg}{350\ g}

1.5\ kg : 350\ g=\dfrac{1.5\times 1000\ g}{350\ g}

1.5\ kg : 350\ g=\dfrac{1500\ g}{350\ g}

1.5\ kg : 350\ g=\dfrac{150}{35}

1.5\ kg : 350\ g=\dfrac{30}{7}

Therefore, the lowest form of the given ratio is 30:7.
