I think teachers should be friends with their students because if your teacher is with you for a whole school year and you don't feel comfortable talking to them that's going to be awkward going into class and its going to be awkward and not the best memory going back. While thinking about going back i think it would be much better if the teacher and students are friends because if not its going to be upsetting going back. I also think that they should be friends because if your falling behind you can openly talk to your teacher instead of being scared to talk to your teacher about it and just getting more missing assignments.
