Garrett Enterprise Garrett Enterprise is a well-known company that has been around for many years. However, Mr. Smith, its CEO,

has noticed recently that the company is not performing up to par. He has been watching the employees closely. Mr. Smith saw that his workers do only what is required and that no one seems to go above and beyond what is necessary. He thinks this is odd because Garrett Enterprise used to have dedicated employees who felt a real sense of ownership toward the company. Now it seems that the employees need to be watched all the time just to make sure they are doing the minimum required. The company has always tried to help its employees through various measures, but recently these measures have been unsuccessful. Mr. Smith also observed that the employees were not engaging with each other. They all seemed to be at ease with each other, but there was very little interaction. When Mr. Smith asked his top managers to study the situation more closely, they reported that the employees were neither dissatisfied nor motivated. Mr. Smith decided that things needed to change. He decided that the managers would reward only very good behaviors and punish anything that was considered bad behavior. While this may not be the best option, Mr. Smith believes that it may work for the near future. Refer to Garrett Enterprise. What type of employees does Garrett Enterprise currently have?

Answer:

The correct answer is motivation.

Explanation:

Work motivation refers to the ability of a company to keep its employees involved to offer maximum performance and thus achieve the business objectives set by the organization.

This motivation at work is key to increasing business productivity and team work in the different activities they carry out, in addition to ensuring that each member feels fulfilled at his or her job and identifies with the company's values. It is the best way for workers to consider themselves an important part of the company and give their best.

One of the most productive things that HR teams and HR managers can do is create a strong culture that helps employees be themselves on the job.

Roofing Issues. Sally agrees to roof a house for Bob. After doing his research, Bob chooses Sally based on her great reputation
expeople1 [14]

Answer:

C. Spencer will win because regardless of whether Glen was acting within the scope of his employment, Sally is liable for his negligence

Explanation:

Spencer will win the lawsuit and Sally is liable for negligence.

This is because, Sally was the person originally hired to do the roofing job.

She hired other workers to help her with the job, so she's liable to their actions and inactions.

Sally is operating under a working agreement (contract) and has already charged a fee of $10,000 so any punitive damages would be her responsibility.

Spencer was moving around and Glen threw some roofing shingles without any word of warning to people that might be in harm's way. So for Glenn's actions, Sally is liable for his negligence.

The risk-free rate of return is 5.5%, the expected rate of return on the market portfolio is 17%, and the stock of Xyrong Corpor
Katen [24]

Answer:

1. $12.31

2. -11.96%

Explanation:

a) Calculation to determine the intrinsic value of a share of Xyrong stock

First step is to calculate the Required Return

Using this formula

Required Return = Risk-free Rate + [Beta * (Expected Market Return - Risk-free Rate)]

Let plug in the formula

Required Return= 5.5% + [2.7 * (17% - 5.5%)]

Required Return= 5.5% + 31.05% = 36.55%

Second step is to calculate g using this formula

g = ROE * (1 - Payout Ratio)

Let plug in the formula

g= 18% * (1 - 0.25)

g= 13.5%

D0 = EPS0 * Payout Ratio = $10 * 0.25 = $2.50

P0 = [D0 * (1 + g)] / [r - g]

= [$2.50 * (1 + 0.135)] / [0.3655 - 0.135]

= $2.8375 / 0.2305 = $12.31

b). Holding Period Return = [P1 + D1 - P0] / P0

= [$8 + $2.8375 - $12.31] / $12.31 = -$1.4727 / $12.31 = -0.1196, or -11.96%
