Answer:

Number of self-Help books sold = 252 books

Step-by-step explanation:

Total books sold last week = 1,125

Central angle for the Self-Help slice = 80.64°

Total angle in a circle = 360°

How many of the books sold were Self-Help books?

Number of self-Help books sold =

Central angle for the Self-Help slice / Total angle in a circle × total number of books sold

= 80.64° / 360° × 1,125

= 0.224 × 1,125

= 252

Number of self-Help books sold = 252 books

What is one of the solutions to the following system of equations?
Amanda [17]

Answer:

(8,-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :   x^{2} +y^{2} =65

               x+y=7

To Find: solution of given system of equations.

Solution:

Equation a :   x^{2} +y^{2} =65

Equation b :  x+y=7

Substitute the value of y from equation b in equation a

y from equation b : y = 7-x

Now substitute value of y in equation a

Thus equation a becomes:

 x^{2} +(7-x)^{2} =65

x^{2} +49+x^{2}-14x =65

2x^{2} -14x =65-49

x^{2} -7x -8=0

x^{2} -8x+x -8=0

x(x-8)+1(x-8)=0

(x+1)(x-8)=0

⇒ x= -1 and x = 8

Now substitute values of x  in equation b to obtains values of y

⇒ x+y=7

for x = -1

⇒ -1+y=7

⇒ y=7+1

⇒ y=8

Thus (x,y)=(-1,8)

For x =8

⇒ 8+y=7

⇒ y=7-8

⇒ y=-1

Thus (x,y)=(8,-1)

Hence Option A is the correct solution .

Use the confidence level and sample data to find a confidence interval for estimating the population mu. Round your answer to th
inysia [295]

Answer:

c. 9.5 lb < mu < 11.1 lb.

Step-by-step explanation:

Confidence interval can be stated as M±ME where

  • M is the sample mean (10.3)
  • ME is the margin of error

margin of error (ME) around the mean can be calculated using the formula

ME=\frac{z*s}{\sqrt{N} } where

  • z is the corresponding statistic in 95% confidence level (1.96)
  • s is the standard deviation of the sample (2.4)
  • N is the sample size (37)

Putting thesenumbers in the formula we get:

ME=\frac{1.96*2.4}{\sqrt{37} } ≈ 0.7733 ≈ 0.8

Then the 95% confidence interval would be 10.3 ± 0.8
