How does federalism limit the power of government in the United States?
vichka [17]

Federalism limits the power of government in the United States through the creation of two sovereign powers: the national government and state governments. In this way, it regulates the influence these have. Separation of powers establishes internal limits; it divides government against itself, giving separate functions to different branches and compelling them to share power, so neither of them becomes predominant.

By separating powers, these are split among the executive (president, vice president, Cabinet), legislative (Congress, House of Representatives and Senate), and judicial branches (Supreme Court and other courts), which are definite departments of American national government.

Why were the border states important to the North during the Civil War?         A. They threatened to form their own country.
ozzi
<span> B. They were slave states that could have joined the Confederacy.

If the border states had joined the Confederacy, it would have greatly bolstered the population as well as the army of the South. However, if the US was more lenient on the border states and allowed slavery there to a certain degree, the Border states would provide a 'buffer' zone to help protect the North from most attacks, as well as provide men for the army and factories for producing much needed supplies.

100 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
harina [27]

Answer:

see below the con and pros

Explanation:

pros

in the modern-day city of Istanbul which was Constantinople, now its Istanbul, not Constantinople.  Which provided the inspiration for a song made famous by They Might Be Giants.

cons

the fall of Byzantine empire, the question of what life would be like, if it hadn’t, will never be answered.  Sure, there might be some alternate reality where the Byzantines are alive and well.  Aspects of string theory certainly suggest so.  But who knows what the modern political landscape might look like with the formal existence of the Byzantine?

pros

The fall of the Byzantine empire is part of the history of the world, as we know it.   We might wear hats on our feet for all we know.   What might the world look like if the empire had not fallen?

cons

Fall of the Byzantine empire led to an abundance of knowledge that is lost forever, think about that forever.  The loss of “Greek Fire” is definitely a drag.  Greek Fire was an incendiary weapon used by the Byzantine navy, and could burn on water. No one knows just what went into that technological advantage possessed by the Byzantines.
