Dissolved oxygen refers to the oxygen present in water which is necessary for many forms of aquatic life. Any change in the amount of dissolved oxygen affects the aquatic life.
Fishes, invertebrates and the aquatic plants need dissolved oxygen for respiration. Microbes like bacteria and fungi also require it for the breakdown of organic matter. A decrease in dissolved oxygen affects the growth, reproduction of fishes and mortality of fishes rises. This results in the accumulation of dead fishes called the fish kill leading to water pollution. Decrease in dissolved oxygen also affects the growth of other aquatic forms and results in the accumulation of organic material in the water body. This is because it results in increased BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) which is the amount of oxygen required by the aerobic microorganisms to breakdown the organic matter.
Simple diffusion- movement of gas from high to low concentrations in lungs and etc.
Active transport- movement of large ions and molecules across cell from low to high concentrations.
Exocytosis- Exo exit the cell by waste and vesicles expel waste using ATP
Endocytosis- Endo means into the cell
A peritonsillar abscess is a bacterial infection that is caused by untreated tonsillitis and strep throat. Complications can be infected lungs causing airway obstruction. Antibiotics are the treatment for this condition or the pus may be drain such as that of a Percutaneous Needle Aspiration thus the nurse should be able to impart to the client to follow the medication prescribed especially antibiotics like if it is good for 7 days to finish it and if in case complications would arise, the patient should consult medical help.
Coccus-shaped bacteria can be found in pairs, chains, squares of four, cubes of eight, or grape like clusters. More specificially, this type of bacteria found in pairs is called diplococcia, in chains is called streptococci, in squares of four is called tetrads, in cubes of eight is called sarcinae, and in grape like clusters called staphylocci.
