Firefighters can stop small fires. They can even stop some big fires. But what happens when fires break out all over a country?

Australia has this problem sometimes. The summers in Australia are hot and dry. Fires start every summer. Farmers like the fires because the flames clear land for crops. Usually, people can contain the fires. But some years, there is no rain for long periods of time in many parts of the country. Fires can grow out of control.

What is one effect that parallelism has on a written work?
lilavasa [31]

D. it clearly connects ideas

Parallelism is when the same grammatical or sentence structure is used for a list of ideas or items. By using a similar grammatical structure the reader's brain automatically makes a connection between the ideas because of the similar structure. Caesar's famous line "I came. I saw. I conquered." is an example of parallelism. Each of the sentences has the format subject-past tense verb.
