They were treated with no mercy and humanity. The slaves were chained and forced to live in a concentrated space. The food they were provided was of the worst quality. The lives of the slaves was not considered important. One of the slaves was beaten so mercilessly that he died working on the ship. The death of any slave was given no consideration and the dead body was disposed off in the sea.
