What is a parallel line to the equation -x+2y=12 that goes through the points (4,0)

First you have to make out the equation in slope intercept form by subtracting x on both sides, which then equals 2y= -x +12. When you divide by 2, you get y=-1/2+6. The slope is -1/2 and if you wanna find the parallel line, you need to use the same slope. Then using point slope form (y-y1=m(x-x1) you get y-0=-1/2(x-4) when you distribute -1/2 your equation becomes y=-1/2x+2, which would be your parallel line

The three incoming currents at a node in an electrical circuit measure 0.7 amps, 0.68 amps, and 0.47 amps two of the three outgo
OLga [1]
What goes in goes out. This means none of the current is lost. So if 0.7amps+0.68amps+0.47amps = 1.85 amps comes in, then 1.85 amps goes out. So far we have 0.8 amps+0.55 amps going out= 1.35 amps. This means we need an additional 1.85-1.35amps going out= 0.5 amps for the third outgoing current. Cheers!

Scientists randomly select ten groups from a population of men over 50 years old. They calculate the mean weights of each of the
vfiekz [6]

Answer:

Notice that the subjects of the study are men over 50 years.

So, you need to consider that each subject is a different person with different weight and other different characteristics that determine that weight.

If we have 10 groups randomly selected, that means there's gonna be variability, otherwise, the study wouldn't make sense.

So, if each person is different, then their weights is gonna be different, giving different means.

It would be rare if both means result equal, beacuse that would mean the subjects had the same weight.

Therefore, the variability between these means can be best attributed to the variability of subjects, the difference between each person.

From a numerical perspective, the variability is attributed to the spread of the data group, that is, if there is too much difference between weights, the variabilty will increase.
