In the atom, energy levels increase outwards from the nucleus.

As we move from the lowest energy orbit n=1 outwards, we keep increasingly moving farther away from the nucleus. This means that the second orbit is farther away from the nucleus than the first orbit. The third orbit is farther away from nucleus than the second orbit and so on.

From the foregoing, it is clear that; an electron in the 6th orbit is farther away from the nucleus compared to an electron in the 3rd orbit
