Firstly, this same treatment wasn’t given to German or Italian Americans, implying a distrust of Asian people at the time, an extremely racist ideology. Secondly, the Japanese Americans had no ties to the Japanese government, they weren’t soldiers or spies, this again would totally destroy any legitimacy of holding Japanese Americans in internment camps.
