Find the height of the triangle
Paul [167]
There are two -main- approaches to answer this problem. By using the sine identity, or applying law of sines.

We'll do the sine trig. identity, as it is the most effective.

Given an angle '\alpha' in a right triangle, 'sin( \alpha )' is defined as the opposite side of the triangle to the given angle, over the triangle's hypotenuse.

So, for this setup:
sin(20)= \frac{x}{10}

Now, we solve for x:
x=10sin(20)=3.42

So, answer is 3.4

Which of the following is the sum of 3/8 and 4/7
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

53/56

Step-by-step explanation:

3/8 + 4/7

Get a common denominator of 56

3/6 * 7/7 = 21/56

4/7 *8/8 = 32/56

21/56+ 32/56 = 53/56

N76 [4]

Answer:

a) 90 pitches total

b) 27 hits

c) 63 pitches (either ball or strike)

Step-by-step explanation:

Every pitch is:

BALL, STRIKE, HIT

(one of the 3)

a)

Given, 60% of total pitches were strikes, that is 54 of them. So we can say:

54 is 60% of total

Let total be "t", so we can write:

54 = 60% * t

Solving for "t":

54=0.6*t\\t=90

Hence, total 90 pitches

b)

60% = strikes

10% = balls

Remaining = 60 + 10 = 70

100 - 70 = 30%

So, 30% of total were hits.

30% of 90

0.3 * 90

27 hits

c)

We know 10% were balls, so

0.10 * 90 = 9 balls

We know 54 were strikes

So, either ball or strike = 9 + 54 = 63

63 pitches (either ball or strike)
