Instead of using the terms I believe, I think, For inferences, use things like "During this part of the book". Or "Going back to the question". Also, if its a story use they them, She her, he him. instead of I, me, when youre showing somebody thinking. Use things like "Oh No! Emily Thought" to really bring the story alive. kifflom [539]

Answer:

Carnegie also created a vertical combination, an idea first implemented by Gustavus Swift. He bought railroad companies and iron mines. One of the many subjects in Kindred deals with an imbalance of power. The patroller clearly
Law Incorporation [45]

The patroller tearing off the blanket shows the power white men had over black people and the power men had over women.

Kindred is a story that focuses on the situation of black people during the Antellebelum period, which is known due to its extensive use of slavery. This issue is explored by Dana who is a modern woman that time travels to this period.

In this story, it is clear there are defined power relationships, the most common include:

  • White people but especially men control black people.
  • Men control women.

These power imbalances are shown in multiple situations, this includes one occasion, in which a patrol (white man) removes the blanket from Alice (a black woman) in order to humiliate her and show his power over her.

Which of these excerpts from Alexander Pope's "The Rape of the Lock" most explicitly suggests that it is a parody of epic poetry
stiv31 [10]

The correct answer here would be D. The epics are long narrative poems which tell grand tales of the legendary heroes and their lives.  Pope’s R.ape of the Lock is a mock-epic. This is a type of a poem which represents a minor, maybe even a banal event as something from an epic or a legend. The line “Fear the just gods, and think of Scylla’s fate!” is really out of place in a poem about the theft of a lock of hair. The man infatuated by a woman without her permission cuts of a lock of her hair which leads to the animosity between two families.
