2,050,000 = 40,000 *  a
a = 2,050,000 / 40,000  =   51.25 m/s^2

Explain why the function is discontinuous at the given number
Blizzard [7]
For f to be continuous at x=5, we need to have

\displaystyle\lim_{x\to5}f(x)=f(5)

Note that x\to5 means that x\neq5, but that x is *approaching* 5. We're told that for x\neq5, we have

f(x)=\dfrac{x^2-5x}{x^2-25}

We can write

\dfrac{x^2-5x}{x^2-25}=\dfrac{x(x-5)}{(x+5)(x-5)}=\dfrac x{x+5}

and the limit would be

\displaystyle\lim_{x\to5}\frac x{x+5}=\dfrac5{5+5}=\dfrac5{10}=\dfrac12\neq1=f(5)

and so f is discontinuous.

The grid below shows figure Q and its image figure Q' after a transformation:
Masteriza [31]
<h3>Answer: choice B) counterclockwise rotation of 90 degrees around the origin</h3>

To go from figure Q to figure Q', we rotate one of two ways

* 270 degrees clockwise

* 90 degrees counterclockwise

Since "270 clockwise" isn't listed, this means "90 counterclockwise" is the only possibility.

Find the volume of the solid. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary.
Vikki [24]
V= \frac{4}{3}  \pi  r^{3} or V=4.1888 r^{3}

r=4 r^{3}=64*4.1888=268.083

V = 268.083 mm^{3} so go with A.
