“like clouds across the sky” is an excerpt from the short story Drawing horses by Cerelle Woods which tells us about a young girl, Marisa who wishes to draw her horses perfectly  like her classmate, Euphemia Tucker.

“like clouds across the sky” in Line 3 ---Marisa tries to explain how Euphemia's horses looked and compared them with the clouds in the sky which always appeared to be in constant motion (due to winds ). This helps the reader understand that Euphemia's sketches looks so real as though they were moving just as the clouds in the sky does.
