When a child goes DOWN a slide what type of transport is that most like? Explain. When a child goes UP a slide what type of tran
ahrayia [7]

The answer would be:

Passive transport

Active transport

Why?

There are two ways molecules can move across membranes within the cell. What makes the two different is the use of energy.

PASSIVE transport is the movement of molecules DOWN the concentration gradient. The molecules move from areas of higher concentration to lower concentration. This does nor require energy. Comparing it to the scenario, the child starts from a higher area and ends at a lower area. Going down a slide does not take energy. The child simply goes down it.

When you talk about the child going UP a slide, think ACTIVE transport. Unlike passive transport, active transport requires energy, because the molecules move AGAINST the concentration gradient.  The movement of molecules in this type of transport is the opposite, it goes from lower areas of concentration to higher areas of concentration.

Hopefully, this has been educational for you and was able to help you understand the difference between the two.

A botanist discovers a new species of land plant with a dominant sporophyte, chlorophylls a and b, and cell walls made of cellul
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

e. spores

Explanation:

In the given question, the characteristics of a plant are mentioned which are the dominant sporophyte, cell wall and the Chl a or b.

It is mentioned that the plant has a dominant sporophyte therefore it produces the spores during its life cycle. The other features like the endosperm, seeds, flowers are the characteristics on the basis of which the plant can be characterised as they differ in the plants.

Since the production of spores is a characteristic feature of the sporophyte, therefore, it will be least considered by the botanist to discover a new species.

Thus, Option-E is the correct answer.

A descriptive observation may very well be a mixture of both quantitative and qualitative as it can utilize elements of both types. Qualitative deals with the kinds of observations that cannot be measured in numerical form. Quantitative data is just that.
