7y = 28

divide both by 7

y = 4

now putting y=4 in two equations

2x - 3y = -2
2x-3(4) = -2
2x-12 = -2
2x = -2 + 12
2x = 10
x = 5

4x + y = 24
4x + 4 = 24
4x = 24-4
4x = 20
x = 5
