Answer:

A. government has control over a particular territory.

Explanation:

In order to know the answer, it is best to look for <em>context clues</em> in the question.

The word "sovereignty" comes from the root word <em>"sovereign." </em>This word is related to the words: <em>ruler, power, authority, control etc.</em>

Choice A clearly shows the meaning of sovereignty because it emphasizes on the <em>government's authority over a particular territory. It means that it is the supreme ruler.</em>

<em>Choice B</em> doesn't show control because it has given up its authority.

<em>Choice C</em> doesn't show sovereignty because the government doesn't use its natural resources for the betterment of the nation, <u>which is normally being done when one is in control over a territory.</u>

In <em>Choice D</em>, the government is <u>"not in supreme power"</u> because it is divided into two territories.

Rising of sea level due to
Lesechka [4]
Im going to guess that you are asking why sea levels are rising??

The rising in sea levels is due to climate change. By burning fossil fuels such as coal or oil we produce green house gasses such as carbon dioxide which are causing the climate to become warmer. This is resulting in warmer seas and warmer winters meaning glaciers and huge amounts of snow and ice are melting. It is the melting of these that is causing a rise in sea levels.

How is the movement in the asthenosphere responsible for volcanoes and earthquakes?
masha68 [24]

Answer:

When plates move away from each other, the space between them gets filled with material, which rises to the surface, cools and forms mid-oceanic ridges. The Pacific Ocean is growing wider by about 18 cm per year as the plates diverge and the mid-oceanic ridge is built up. Where plates come into contact, energy is released. Plates sliding past each other cause friction and heat. Subducting plates melt into the mantle, and diverging plates create new crust material. Subducting plates, where one tectonic plate is being driven under another, are associated with volcanoes and earthquakes.

When Alfred Wegener first proposed the idea of continental drift (the precursor idea to plate tectonic theory), it didn’t quite explain the full story. While he correctly showed that Africa and South America fitted together, his model wasn’t able to explain the violent forces that occur around the Earth’s crust. It wasn’t until the 1960s that a full explanation began to develop – the theory of plate tectonics.
