What is Nellie Bly’s point of view about the plight of the poor and mentally ill and the attitudes of officials toward these peo
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer and Explanation:

1. Bly exposes a point of view where he shows that the mentally ill are treated badly, exploited, harmed and hurt by the authorities that do not propose an inspection and a good treatment for all of them. In addition, she claims that the authorities do not investigate whether a person could even be taken to a hispanic for an accusation of madness, since no one investigated to see if he was really mad, he did not even ask him, after he was accused of madness. In other words, Bly's point of view shows that the authorities are incompetent and the sick, unfortunately, badly treated.

2. She makes a strong use of irony, affirming sarcastically statements that emit one meaning when in fact, they mean another. However, this is not done in a subjective way, but expositively, so that everyone has the ability to understand what she was talking about. An example of this is when she shows how efficient the authorities are in their work, as they allowed a non-crazy woman to enter a hospice and stay there for days.

3. Bly shows how she is a courageous, fearless journalist, dedicated to her work, committed to truth and justice.
