Answer: Too get what is called an eye witness view or perspective. for example, when you ask a reporter or read an article about a historical event, you will only get answers from information read up about. While if you were too ask someone who actually lived through it they would know almost all the small facts or details that the reporter would know. That’s why it is important, as they were actually there too see the event, Hence eye witness.

Interviews with people who lived through historic events often capture the tone and impact of what it was like to be there. The media can sometimes mince information and drive false narratives for the sake of sensationalism. By going directly to the source you can get information about a historical event while also getting insight into the impact it had on people.
