How does Tan build a central idea of her story in the excerpt?
Nat2105 [25]

Tan from the excerpt is able to build the central idea in that she relates her mum's English as evidence that one's mother tongue or the language of one's upbringing is a deep form of expression.

What is a central idea?

A central idea is an idea in a text around which all the other elements of the story revolve.

Thus, it is right to state that Tan from the excerpt is able to build the central idea in that she relates her mum's English as evidence that one's mother tongue or the language of one's upbringing is a deep form of expression.

Would you rather be described as innocent or immature? Explain.
kicyunya [14]
Good question. Immature because it helps with my dysphoria as a trans man because boys are typically seen as immature. But, I think you need a more inclusive answer so here’s one: “id rather be considered immature because I don’t want people my age to assume I’m lame. Usually people can get along better with someone who is immature rather than innocent because they feel they know nothing or are boring.”
