What are three different reasons oil sands are positive?
alisha [4.7K]

Answer: Here's your answer!!

1)The responsible development of oil sands is a key driver of Alberta's and Canada's economy. It creates jobs and tax revenue for the government which supports the social programs and capital infrastructure projects we rely on.

2)Crude oil derived from the oil sands is refined into products, such as gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel, which keep us warm, power our industries, and help us move about the country and the world (not to mention cooking those turkeys). With conventional oil supply declining, the need for oil sands is increasing.

3)A strong oil sands sector drives a strong national economy by attracting capital, creating jobs, and supporting public services. ... Local companies in every province supply goods and services to the oil sands—creating jobs, growth and economic opportunity in local communities!

Hope its helpful!

In general, which of the following is true about the effect education has on family size? Check all that apply. A. Less educatio
Scrat [10]

Answer:

B. Less education, earlier marriage, more children.

C. Educated women have fewer children, even after correcting for the fact that they marry later.

D. More education, later marriage, fewer children.

Explanation:

One of the most important factors when it comes to birthrates and thus family size is education. This goes for both genders, though it tends to be more pronounced at the women and their education level. To put it simply, the more educated the population is, the smaller the family size, the less educated the population is, the bigger the family size.

  • When people are less educated, they start working earlier and very often marry very young. By getting married very young they have the first child very early and on top of it, they have much more time to have more children.
  • When people are more educated, they finish studying later, focus on building a career because they have many more opportunities, thus they delay marriage. When they decide to get married it is later in their lives so usually, they don't really have enough time to have larger families.
  • The education level of women is crucial. In every country where the women are highly educated the birthrates have dropped sharply. Basically, when women focus on their careers and delay marriage they found themselves in a situation to have a single child or to miss out on the period when they can have a child thus end up with none.

Soil erosion is mainly due to which of the following reasons?
Ugo [173]

The correct answer is - deforestation.

Deforestation is a huge issue when it comes to soil erosion. When there's thicker vegetation the soil is in place and the erosion is minimal. This is due to the root systems of the trees, bushes, grashes, that are making a natural net inside the soil that holds it in place and doesn't allow the soil to be moved away and thus erosion to take place. But when we have a deforested landscape than the situation is the total opposite. The soil is left on its own and it doesn't have any protection from the root systems to keep in place, so with every rain it is eroding slowly and occasionally quickly when there's heavy rainfall. Most of the erosion takes place on the steeper parts.
