Answer:

p = 0.34

Explanation:

Given -

Green allele is recessive and is represented by "b"

Blue allele is dominant and is represented by "B"

Also out of 100 organisms, 44 are green in color. Thus,  all these 44 organism would have genotype "bb"

As per Hardy Weinberg's equation , frequency of "bb" is represented as q^{2}

Thus frequency of allele "b" would be equal to

\sqrt{q^{2} }

= \sqrt{\frac{44}{100} } \\= \sqrt{0.44} \\= 0.66

As per first equation of Hardy Weinberg-

p+q=1

Frequency of allele "B" will be equal to

p = 1-q

Substituting the value of q, we get

p = 1-0.66\\p = 0.34

The answer would be C. 0.34

So
p+q=1(when u have 2 alleles)
0.44 of the population has recessive phenotype so is q^2.

q=radq^2=rad0.44=0.663

p=1-q=0.336=0.34

A complex adaptation like the human eye exists in its present form because:
leonid [27]

Answer:

The correct answer is option c.

Explanation:

The human eye is a complex adaptation, which has evolved over many millions of years, and similarly to other composite adaptations, it still exhibits the signs of the evolutionary history. The complex adaptation of the human eye is the outcome of the evolution of the past organisms, which have utilized transitional forms of the eye. The evolution of the eye is a cumulative procedure. The evolution of the eye did not take place by random chance, however, it occurs due to billions of years of natural selection.
