They are both reflections over the y-axis! The y-axis is the vertical line in the middle that goes up and down. If you draw (-1, -3) it will be in Quadrant 3. If you draw the other point (1, -3) it will be a direct reflection in Quadrant 4 of the first point. This is being reflected over the middle line called the y-axis.

add ten s to both sides
