The correct answer is C) The president can use a veto to reject a bill passed by Congress.

The power of the veto is given to the president of the United States. This allows the president to stop a bill from becoming a law. This power is given to the executive branch as part of the systems of checks and balances. The system of checks and balances ensures that no one branch of government becomes too powerful. The executive branch can have its power checked by the Supreme Court (can rule an executive order unconstitutional) or Congress (override a veto by a 2/3 vote in both the Senate and House of Representatives).

How were the result of the tinker and hazelwood cases different?
malfutka [58]

They were different, because in Thinker's case it was ruled in the favor of the students. They had the freedom to publish whatever they wanted, as long as it was not disruptive . In Hazelwood's case it was ruled in favor of the school, because the educators had a power to decide what could be published in student's newspaper.
