Joe Millimurra is caring, and I say this because he took care of Mary. He also bought gifts for his siblings! And as it says on page 69, it states “You’ll be alright once we get on that rattler. We’ll get a nice, cozy truck.” Joe Millimurra is also kind, and the author makes it pretty obvious from the sentence on page 69 where it says that Joe said “Go back old man, I don’t want to hurt you.” This means that Joe has empathy for the elder, and doesn’t want to hurt him.

Joe is also respectful, and I say that this is a fact because he bought Mary a dress once he got out of prison. Don’t believe me? It’s in the story. It clearly states that “Wages earned, a few bob and they gave it to me when I got out.” He clearly feels bad for being in prison for so long, having no quality time spent with Mary, so he bought her a dress.
