Debora [2.8K]
During the period between 1775 and 180, many African Americans gained freedom from slavery, yet during the same period, the institution of slavery expanded. The changes took place in different locations in the United States of America. The Northern states opposed slavery while the Southern states still enforced slavery. Many African American slaves managed to escape from the South to the North where they were freed from slavery. The freed African-American slaves spent their time working towards helping the slaves in the Southern states escape towards the North. The slaves in the South were forced to work on the tobacco and cotton plantations. They bided their time  until they were able to escape.

What did many Americans realize about the United States as a result of world war 2
Jet001 [13]

Americans noticed that after the end of the Second World War, the geopolitical landscape of the world would change in favor of the United States, as it no longer had a threat in Europe nor had a threat in the Pacific Ocean, as the Empire of Japan was defeated during the war. This favorable scenario let the United States grow in economic and military power. Two processes that were perceived by the average American citizen, as job opportunities grew due to the development of the industry, leading to improving his or her living conditions.

4. What do you predict are the dangers of appeasement?
gavmur [86]
Good example of appeasement being used is the Munich Conference (1938), and the Potsdam Conference (1945). Many see appeasement as surrendering to another country’s wishes, which can make a nation and its leader look weak. It’s a temporary measure taken to stop a war, but many times is unsuccessful in the long run. Leaders such as Neville Chamberlain and FDR used this strategy with Hitler and Stalin, who both took advantage of what they had been given. Appeasement can put a country in a weak position due to them losing territory, resources, etc. It’s a very diplomatic policy, but usually only curbs a threat for a short time. Hope this helped a little! :)
