The Sahara (/səˈhɑːrə/, /səˈhærə/; Arabic: الصحراء الكبرى‎, aṣ-ṣaḥrāʼ al-kubrá, 'the Greatest Desert') is a desert on the African continent. With an area of 9,200,000 square kilometres (3,600,000 sq mi), it is the largest hot desert in the world and the third largest desert overall, smaller only than the deserts of Antarctica and the northern Arctic.[1][2][3]

This video over the Sahara and the Middle East was taken by the crew of Expedition 29 on board the International Space Station.

The name "Sahara" is derived from the Arabic word for "desert" in the feminine irregular form, the singular ṣaḥra'(صحراء /ˈsˤaħra/), plural ṣaḥārā (صَحَارَى /ˈsˤaħaːraː/[4][5][6][7]), ṣaḥār (صَحَار), ṣaḥrāwāt (صَحْارَاوَات), ṣaḥāriy (صَحَارِي).

The desert comprises much of North Africa, excluding the fertile region on the Mediterranean Sea coast, the Atlas Mountains of the Maghreb, and the Nile Valley in Egypt and Sudan. It stretches from the Red Sea in the east and the Mediterranean in the north to the Atlantic Ocean in the west, where the landscape gradually changes from desert to coastal plains. To the south, it is bounded by the Sahel, a belt of semi-arid tropical savanna around the Niger Rivervalley and the Sudan Region of Sub-Saharan Africa. The Sahara can be divided into several regions, including the western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains, the Ténéré desert, and the Libyan Desert.

For several hundred thousand years, the Sahara has alternated between desert and savanna grassland in a 20,000 year cycle[8] caused by the precession of the Earth's axis as it rotates around the Sun, which changes the location of the North African Monsoon. The area is next expected to become green in about 15,000 years (17,000 CE).

Maru [420]

The correct answer is: <em>"Clean energy sources will help the environment as well as the economy." </em>

The Democratic Party is committed to supporting the balance of development with environmental protection. This is why they aim to reduce the country's dependence on foreign oil and eliminating the subsidies applied to Oil and gas companies. On the other hand, they promote the use of this saved money in the development of clean energy alternatives and energy independent technology.

The Democratic Party also supports the development of hydrogen as a renewable energy and is committed to the funding of studies that will help overcome the technical difficulties that are present in the adoption of hydrogen as a safe energy source.

Dave believes all college professors are irritable, impatient, and uninterested in whether students learn. his belief is an exam
Snowcat [4.5K]
The correct answer should be stereotype.
It is a common stereotype about professors that they are often irritable, that they don't really care whether their students are going to learn anything, and that they are quick of temper. This is why Dave thinks that all professors are like that, even though that is obviously not true.
