It is was really important that lewis and clark found Sacagawea so they could talk to the other tribes. Also lewis and clark mapped out rivers and routes so that other people could settle in the land they had just come back from. The reason this is important is that if the did not map out the land people would not have moved into the land. The last fact is that they found the Pacific Ocean and the now ner how far there land was, they also found the Rocky Mountains.
