Those who were coined as loyalists were people in the U.S. who did not see the need to break away from Britain, and would range from just simply not supporting the revolution, to even actively fighting for Britain.

The first and second choices are correct, and would not hurt the colonists chances of winning. The fourth choice is only half correct, as the Americans received adequate leadership under George Washington, as well as training from foreign countries such as Spain and France.
