In the novel Lord of the flies
The conch symbolises organization of power and order in civilation
Piggy symbolises their past life and order as well as hope
Piggy's glasses symbolise necessities such as fire and when they are broken as well as the conch they both symbolise the fall of civilation and the beginning of chaos

Piggy’s cache all represent something that are important to the crew. 1.) Piggy, symbolizes the boys past life. When they had a mother and father a real life with education and a job. 2.) Piggy’s Glasses represent their needs like water, food, and shelter. The conch reminds that something bad is going to happen because when piggy broke The Conch. Rodger took the honor and killed him because he broke the conch. These reminders all prove that the beast is all of them and the humanity of the characters are slowly slipping away. They are turning into monsters more like beasts.

This part of the speech is effective since it conveys Britain's confidence in their Navy and the possibility of winning the war, as further explained below.

What is the purpose of the speech?

The speech "Their Finest Hour" by Winston Churchill has the purpose of conveying the idea that it is possible for Britain to win the war. For that reason, the part of the speech that we are analyzing here is effective. It implies that the British Navy deserves to be trusted, whereas Italy's and Germany's are not as good they they used to be.

Therefore, this part of the speech helps compose the speech as whole and serves as another point or argument in the process of claiming that Britain can win the war. The speech is, thus, inspiring and reassuring, as is its purpose.

With the information above in mind, we can conclude that the answer provided above is correct.
