In the novel Lord of the flies
The conch symbolises organization of power and order in civilation
Piggy symbolises their past life and order as well as hope
Piggy's glasses symbolise necessities such as fire and when they are broken as well as the conch they both symbolise the fall of civilation and the beginning of chaos

Piggy’s cache all represent something that are important to the crew. 1.) Piggy, symbolizes the boys past life. When they had a mother and father a real life with education and a job. 2.) Piggy’s Glasses represent their needs like water, food, and shelter. The conch reminds that something bad is going to happen because when piggy broke The Conch. Rodger took the honor and killed him because he broke the conch. These reminders all prove that the beast is all of them and the humanity of the characters are slowly slipping away. They are turning into monsters more like beasts.

Select all of the common nouns. Take a taxi to the Empire State Building at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 54th Street.
Natalka [10]

Answer:

taxi, Empire State Building, corner, Fifth Avenue, at(?) West 54th Street.

Explanation:

Well a noun is a person place or thing. Street numbers are nouns as well. A is an indefinite article. I am not a 100% sure this is correct but from my perspective thats what it is. At is either a preposition or a noun. In this situation, I believe it is a noun.

Read the excerpt from Hamlet.
kykrilka [37]
This shows how much Claudius cares about being King and holding onto his throne.

He knows that the public loves Hamlet, which is why he can't just arrest him for the murder of Polonius, he has to be much sneakier and trickier than that, otherwise the public will take Hamlet's side and Claudius will lose support.
