The correct answer would be the first option: PARADISE. In “the scarlet ibis,” old woman swamp is a symbol of paradise to doodle and his brother. The old woman swamp represents peace and happiness to the two boys because this is the place where they feel comfortable and where Doodle learns to walk.
Death
In the poem the speaker says, "The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
" At the very beginning of the poem the speaker personifies Death. When she says, "Because I could not stop for Death - He kindly stopped for me". This idea that Death stops for the speaker, personifies Death and makes him a character in the poem. This means that "Ourselves" refers to the speaker and Death.
Some people have argued that since Death is personified, so is Immortality and therefore Immortality is also riding in the Carriage with the speaker and Death. However, this is not a widely accepted interpretation.
2 and 4 are both strong. It is clear what is going to be discussed especially on 4. Two is very intreging. It would be nice to see how that will develop. By that it would be interesting to see how those two ideas will be tired together.
One is too vague. It's true, but where are you going with that? Some indication has to be given.
Three has the same problem. Bad? What does bad mean? I may be wrong, but I think a thesis statement, if at all possible, should use concrete nouns. There should be no doubt about where this is going.
This is just an example of what I mean
Throughout history, every time a new technology was developed, it was immediately used in war. I think both 2 and 4 do something like that.
