Read the text. Is Punctuation Sending the Wrong Message? 1) Are you using punctuation when you text? If so, you may be sending t

he wrong message. As text messaging has developed into a key form of communication, some of the ways we look at punctuation have changed. We all know that the "old" punctuation rules still apply to other forms of writing, such as drafting a research paper for school. However, something as harmless as a period could convey a negative message when it's used in a text. In general, when texting, people should be cautious about using punctuation, particularly the period. Presumably, grammar teachers everywhere are not happy about this. What is most closely the meaning of superseded as it is used in the passage below (paragraph 3)?
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

D. | verb | taken the place of; succeeded

Explanation:

"Take the place of" or "succeeded" would best replace the word 'superseded' in this passage.

It isn't A because there is no evidence in the passage to support this answer.

It isn't B because there is no evidence in the passage to support this answer.

It isn't C because to supersede does not necessarily connote defeat in a literal sense.

Hope this isn't confusing. Hope this helps! :D
