Read the summary of the conclusion of "The World on Turtle's Back."
valina [46]

Answer:

answer is in exaplation

Explanation:

Read the excerpt from The Crisis, Number I, by Thomas Paine.

"Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but 'to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER,' and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth."

Which is the best way to paraphrase this excerpt?

Britain has oppressed the colonist in many ways

Read the excerpt from a summary of Common Sense.

[1] Thomas Paine states that to talk of friendship with Britain is unwise. [2] Relations between the countries are steadily declining, and he is certain that they will not improve. [3] Paine concludes that reconciliation is not possible because some injuries are unforgivable. [4] Paine's logic is indisputable; without his words, America might have remained subject to British rule to this day.

Which sentence should be revised to make this summary more objective?

Sentence 4

Read the excerpt from a summary of the Declaration of Independence.

[1] The Declaration of Independence is beautifully written. [2] Jefferson argues that everyone has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. [3] It is a government's job to protect these rights. [4] When a government fails, Jefferson asserts that the people can overthrow their government.

Which sentence should be revised to make this summary more objective?

sentence 1

Read the summary of the first three paragraphs of "The World On Turtle's Back."

[1] In the beginning, there was no land, only the great ocean. [2] The Sky-World, the home of the gods, was above the ocean. [3] A sacred tree stood at the center. [4] One of the gods pulled out some of its roots for his pregnant wife. [5] This created a hole in the floor of the Sky-World. [6] The man's wife fell through the hole toward the ocean below, clutching the roots in her hand.

Look at this painting by French artist Henri Rousseau titled The Hungry Lion Throws Itself on the Antelope. Rousseau wrote this
KIM [24]

The painting contains both internal and external conflict. External conflict exists between the strong lion and the comparatively weaker antelope. The antelope has no chance to win against the hungry lion. This conflict is similar to the conflict between animals of prey and the hunters Zaroff and Rainsford in “The Most Dangerous Game.” Armed with guns, these hunters enjoy hunting down their relatively defenseless prey. This conflict also exists between Zaroff and the humans he hunts. They stand no chance against him, with his knowledge of hunting and the geography of the island.

In the external conflict between Zaroff and Rainsford, Rainsford can be compared first to the antelope and Zaroff to the powerful lion. Zaroff almost kills Rainsford. However, later, when Rainsford gets back to the chateau to challenge Zaroff, the tables turn. Now Rainsford is more like the lion and Zaroff the antelope.

The panther represents internal conflict. It is hungry and wants the antelope, but it is too scared to approach the prey while the lion is devouring it. The panther seems torn between the need to eat and the need to stay safe from possible physical harm from the lion. In the same way, Rainsford experiences internal conflict. As he is contemplating whether to jump into the sea, he is torn between his need for adventure and his need to stay alive.

The birds of prey are similar to Ivan. They appear to be opportunists who steal a shred of meat from the antelope that the lion has chased down and killed. Ivan is also an opportunist. He satisfies his savage needs by torturing Zaroff’s victims.

Answer:

C). Whining.

Explanation:

The word 'querulous' is employed as an adjective to denote 'an often complaining or suggesting a complaint in expression.' In the given sentence, the most adequate denotation of this word would be 'whining' to connote that if Emma wears a leather jacket along with her spiked pink hair, her father would express a complaint or fretful reaction to this. Thus, option C is the correct answer.
