Your going to have to strike put the answers you know are wrong. Textile mills are used to make cotton faster to drain it and to get all the seeds out of the cotton before they ship them off they did not hire children since how they are too young to run a machine. (option A) The hired women because men are usually the ones doing hard labor and getting the cotton. (option D) When it came between option B and C I got a little unsure but foreigners are from different country's so they wouldn't be in America. Therefore it came down to option B because they hired young native women in order to do there labor. They get paid small wages and harsh conditions which some became a argument in a few states then came a protest. So the answer is option B "young, native-born women."

Hope this helps!

What was Congress' Ironclad Oath?<br> ' ?
tekilochka [14]

Answer: In 1862, Congress mandated that civil servants and military personnel take an Ironclad Test Oath that they had never voluntarily aided the Confederacy. As Reconstruction evolved, the Ironclad Oath emerged as the strictest of several possible standards for the readmission of Southerners into the political life of the Union. So basicly the oath was to stay loyal to the union, and never the confederates.

What did the plantation system lead to?
emmasim [6.3K]
The plantation system developed in the American South as the British colonists arrived in Virginia and divided the land into large areas suitable for farming. Because the economy of the South depended on the cultivation of crops, the need for agricultural labor led to the establishment of slavery.
