Directions: try to correct the following run-on sentences.

English
1 answer:
QveST [7]3 years ago

Answer:

There are many ways you could correct this. For example you could correct it by changing it to: "My family is coming to dinner tonight," or "My parents and sister are coming to dinner tonight." "My family is coming to dinner tonight" is best because it's not as long and dragging, but as I said, you can do it both ways. Hope this helps.

lesya [120]
The question is asking us to choose the best option to explain what the following meant" While broadcasting a football game, the announcer exclaimed, "I can't believe it. Carl James just scored a touchdown. That's right; I said Carl James. Even Carl looks as if he can't believe it either.". What we see here is a surprise ("I can't believe it") of the announcer, but we see no bias - he or she seems to have a posotive attitute towards Carl. So the best answer is B. Carl doesn't score touchdowns very often. - this would explain the surprise

In Defense of the Penny
How would eliminating pennies affect prices in America?
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

In effect, eliminating the penny means all retail prices would end in zero or five. Some prices would rise a few pennies; some would be rounded down. Prices that end in 99 cents are common, and penny proponents have argued that eliminating pennies would amount to a one-cent sales tax.
