For the problem we will apply the concepts related to Newton's second law. Recall that this is defined as the product between mass and acceleration, and that in special cases, when the acceleration is equivalent to the force of gravity, the force is equivalent to the weight of the person. From these relationships we will find the mass, and then the acceleration with the given force.

Here,
= Force
m = Mass
g = Gravity
Replacing and rearranging we have that the mass is,

Now using the value of the force, but solving for the acceleration with the previous value of the mass we have,

Therefore the acceleration of the box is
Explanation: Well, think about it if you see it on the logical end, there are 8 men that mean 16 legs. Then there are 4 legs of the couch as well that made it total of 20. If broken legs are of the men, then still the total will be 20 because the legs are still intact but 6 men left that means 12 legs are gone, if 3 legs break and 6 men leave. the number of legs remaining are 20–6*2–3=5.... so it's 5 I hope this helps! xoxo
The mass of the first body is double the mass of the second body.
This all revolves around Newtons 2nd law of motion that states F=m*a.
If we understand that body one has the same force applied but half of the acceleration than body two, we can easily understand that it has to do something with the objects mass. This is because mass and acceleration in newtons 2nd law are inversely proportional. This means if and objects force stays the same, but it’s mass doubles, then the acceleration must be half its original value. And if the acceleration doubles and the force stays constant than the mass must have halved from its original value. It sounds quite complicated but it’s very simple. Hopefully this helps!!!
