Psychologically Brenda has just hit a maturity stage so she finds other kids her age doing the same. She wants to be like everyone is that is in her friends zone. So therefore she wants to experiment them for her popularity needs. Or she wants to see what gets her the highest. For biological thoughts she might see the effects that it has on others. So she wants to try it and see if she can feel the same way if they affect her the same way. Lastly for social - cultural it falls into what I put as my first explanation but, slightly different. Brenda may have been bullied about not being popular enough because she doesn't do drugs or so on. So she feels the needs to fill this expectation by being like them to fit in their social grouping.
