Studies have shown that the increased amount of pollution has led to a drastic decline in the number of white-colored moths. Therefore, if pollution decreased and the environment was restored, then white-colored moths would once again thrive and their population would drastically increase. This is because, with less pollution, the white-colored moths are much harder for predators to see and are able to blend in easier with their surroundings. This therefore, allows them to survive long enough to reproduce.
