An active sentence means that the actions are being done to the subjects. So, in this case, your subject would be the late arriving cashier. One way to make this an active sentence would be to say, “The late-arriving cashier was being scolded by the manager.” I’m sure you can come up with different ways, but feel free to use that and I hope it helps! :)
