Select the type of wordy expression that best describes the sentence below.
Sonja [21]

Answer:

C, Smothered verb

Explanation:

Process of elimination:

A: A modifier problem is where a word, phrase, or clause is misplaced in a sentence. The words are in the correct order in "They conducted an investigation." (e.g. when trying to describe that a potter sold all but some of his pottery, the sentence may be "The potter almost sold all of his pottery," when it should be "The potter sold almost all of his pottery,").

B: A dummy subject is something that does not specify what is doing a certain action in a sentence (e.g. "It's cold outside," What's cold outside?).

D: A redundant expression (more commonly known as a tautology) is restating the same thing in two different words (e.g. a sentence may be "during this period of time" where it should be "during this period" or "during this time").

A smothered verb is a noun that could have been a verb. In this example, the sentence is "They conducted an investigation," where the sentence should be "They investigated,".

What was roman daily life like
Serga [27]

Answer:

Daily life in Ancient Rome often began with a light breakfast. Bread and water, (or wine) would be served at home, or a wheat pancake could have been purchased on the way to work or school. Sometimes meat, fish, fruit, and other items may have been served, but not each day. Men and boys wore togas and then later tunics.

Plz help me with this question from the nichomachean ethics or 2 question
goldenfox [79]
You didn't give the options. However, i'll try.
To me, a stone cannot be ethical because it cannot suffer. Indeed, the capacity for suffering must be satisfied before we talk about interest in a meaningful way. For instance, nothing we could possibly do for a stone could make a difference in its welfare. It don't have interest.  Whereas, we, humans have interest. Therefore we can be ethical because we are sentient beings that can be benifited or harmed. It's because we can experience pain as a result.
Hope this helps !
