The easternmost subregion of the Coastal Plains is called the Piney Woods. It is part of a pine forest that covers the entire southern United States from the Atlantic Ocean to Texas. Most of the land in the Piney Woods is rolling hills. The Piney Woods also has one of the wet- test climates of any Texas subregion.
