The Incan civilization was heavily influenced by the <em>Andes Mountains</em>. Its most important city, Cusco, was located im what today is Perú, on a valley in the Andes. One of the most famous incan archeological sites, the Machu Picchu, is located on the mountains more than 2000 metres above sea level.
