The coral skeleton is made up of some elements, some are metallic while some are non metals. Some of these elements are found in the hard skeleton of the coral while some are found in its soft tissues. The most abundant element in the soft tissue is carbon.

Epithelial tissue has distinct upper and lower surfaces and is not supported by blood cells. It retains the ability to regenerate, and it  is supported by connective tissue.

It has also a feature called cellularity which means it is made completely of cells and there is no space that exist it is connected too close. Whereas in connective tissue, an area of non living matter exists in between the cells and that is called extra cellular matrix which is found in between the cells in the connective tissue.
