All were true until an armistice was meted out, permanently partitioning Korea pre-1950 to Communist North Korea in the capital city of Pyongyang, with Democratic South Korea in the capital city of Seoul. A “no fly zone” of demarcation is still occupied today by approximately 5,000 to 10,000 active duty U.S. military personnel along the Southern border, and by an equal number of N.
