Around November, I will start looking at the weather report daily, hoping for a blizzard the following day. When my wish does not happen, I force myself for get up and go to school. When it doesn’t happen, though, I feel like it’s the best day of my life. I love waking up in the morning for school and seeing the layers of glistening snow outside. On these days, I dress myself is my cold weather gear. This consists of my boots, gloves, beanies and a thick coat.
After getting dressed, I contact all my friends and we plan out the activities we’re going to do throughout the day. First, we go to one of our houses or to the park to build a snowman. Next, we find a huge hill to go sledding. Sometimes if the snow is really big, we go to our family cabin up in the mountains to ski and snowboard. To wrap up the day, we visit our local ice rink to skate. Finally, we all go to my house and my mom makes us hot cocoa.

Answer:

Tuesday night, I sat with my family watching the news eagerly while drinking hot cocoa. The tall and dark headed weather man on TV pointed around the screen to different towns in our state giving his usual 7:00 weather report. Please let there be snow, please let there be snow! I prayed in silence, butterflies in my stomach as the weather map moved towards my town. "Grab your mittens and boots (town)! You guys are getting a heavy blizzard on Thursday that we estimate will bring in up to six inches of snow." said the news anchor in a jolly tone.

Wednesday was agonizing. All day through school I kept dreaming of all the fun things I would do the next day. I couldn't wait to build a snowman with my (siblings, family, or friends) and go sledding. I thought about trying to use my (family member's or whoever's) old snowboard on the hill in our steep backyard, just to try it out. I also planned on drinking a lot of hot cocoa the next day to keep myself from freezing in the unbelievable SIX INCHES OF SNOW that would blanket the town.

Thursday morning, I woke up and looked outside. The whole (neighborhood/wherever you live) was white and sparkly. I rushed through breakfast to get outside. "Be careful, (name)! The ice will send to skiing down the hill if you're not careful." yelled (family member). It was hard not to skate on the ice, but I managed to make it safely to (wherever you store stuff outside) to get my sled and the old snowboard.

I cant finish this cause I gotta go but add more to the last paragraph/ add another. Hope this helps!

Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

The first sentence if modified can make the paragraph into a stronger argumentative speech.

Explanation:

Current opening sentence: Genetically modified foods unequally benefit rich countries, including the United States.

Revised opening sentence: Rich countries including the United States currently enjoy more benefits from the production and sale of Genetically Modified Foods than developing nations.

So the complete paragraph looks like this:

Rich countries including the United States currently enjoy more benefits from the production and sale of Genetically Modified Foods than developing nations. The USDA reports that the US gained the vast majority of the total world benefit from new herbicide-tolerant soybeans in 1997. In addition, the US company that created the soybeans charged farmers a technology fee. These high adoption costs will continue to limit the benefits of genetically modified crops to rich countries that do not need the higher yields, rather than extending them to poorer nations that do.

In revising the first paragraph, we are able to go in with a stronger argument or hook which is critical to an argumentative essay.

Cheers
