During the conflict of the Korean War, <u>the United States stood on the side of South Korea. </u>

<u>The US forces made the offense into North Korea as part of the UN offensive.</u> This happened at the end of 1950, but the offensive was later halted by Chinese intervention.

However, the war took a massive turn during <u>the landing and battle of Inchon</u>. <u>The US party general, Douglas MacArthur, was leading the UN and South Korean Armies.</u>

The battle ended in their favor with the victory for the UN. North Korea collapsed in the aftermath of the battle and offensive.
