⓵ I personally find it easier to put my equation in words before actually writing the equation, so for this particular situation, the equation would sound like this :

→ The cost (C) is equal to 45$ a day (d) plus 25$!

⓶ Now that your equation is put into words, all that you have to do is write down the equation without the words :

→ C = (45d) + 25

⓷ If you want to make sure that your equation is correct, you can try it out, say for instance you want to rent a car for a week, so for a total of 7 days, and you want to see how much it would cost :

d = 7 (in this particular situation)

C = (45 × 7) +25

↓

C = 315 + 25

↓

C = 340

→ So it would cost 340$ to rent a car for a week!

I really hope this helped, if there’s anything just let me know! ☻

Suppose that the times required for a cable company to fix cable problems in the homes of its customers are uniformly distribute
mafiozo [28]

Answer: 1

Step-by-step explanation:

If a random variable x is uniformly distributed in [a,b] the

Mean = \dfrac{a+b}{2}

Standard deviation : \sqrt{\dfrac{(b-a)^2}{12}}

Let x =  Times required for a cable company to fix cable problems

As per given.

x is  uniformly distributed between 40 minutes and 65 minutes.

Then , mean = \dfrac{65+40}{2}=52.5 minutes

Standard deviation : \sqrt{\dfrac{(65-40)^2}{12}}\approx7.22minutes

Consider , P (mean- 2(Standard deviation) < X < mean+2(Standard deviation) )

= P(52.5-2(7.22)< X <  52.5+2(7.22))

=P(38.06 <X < 66.94 ).

But x lies between 40 minutes and 65 minutes.

Also,   [40 minutes,  65 minutes]⊂ [38.06 minutes , 66.94 minutes]

Therefore ,P(38.06 <X < 66.94 ) =1

∴ The probability that a randomly selected cable repair visit falls within 2 standard deviations of the mean is 1.

If the 3rd and the 9th term of an ap are 4 and -8 respectively, which term of this a.p is zero?
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

The 5th term.

Step-by-step explanation:

a3 = a1 + 2d = 4

a9 = a1 + 8d = -8

Subtracting :

6d = -12

d = -2

So it's the 5th term because:

  a5 = a3 + 2(-2)

= 4 - 2(2) = 0
